Passive radiators allow lower tuning in smaller enclosures than is possible with standard ports. You can get that extra low end output without all the problems with vent noise and compression associated with ports.

The PR18-2100 is our 18" 2100 gram passive radiator. It features an 8" diameter spider and a 1.5" roll surround.

All calculations done with both AV12s in same box with dual PR18-2500. (not shown no web site ??)

With John's heaviest PR18-2500, you would need a 7 cu.ft internal net box (about 9 cu.ft gross once bracing and wood is taken into account) to reach 15 Hz. It would be a quite good frequency response, with room gain, everything should be equalized almost back to flat.

To reach 18 Hz with the same PR, you would need a 4.75 cu.ft internal net box (about 6.25 cu.ft gross once bracing and wood is taken into account). It would be an even better frequency response, with room gain, everything should be equalized almost back to flat.

20 Hz is 3.75 cu.ft internal net (about 5 cu.ft gross once bracing and wood is taken into account), good frequency response also.
