Venom Drivers

Hi i was wondering if anyone from Austraila could confirm that Jaycar's venom subs have been discontinued? I noticed this on Collo's website Although they are very cheap i found they sounded good for $100! Personally i love my 15 venom, i also have an 8 inch in a vented 30L box for my computer... I guess i'll have to look to mainstream car audio for drivers now

If you tune into this collo where did you get that information? i have Emailed Jaycar and they have not replyed, also in Adelaide the guys working in the city had/have no idea! Guess i will have to start saving for something serious from the states even if the shipping ends up costing as much as the driver...

Re: Venom Drivers

That info is correct unfortunately.

The news was broken back on 6th August in this thread at the Aussie DTV forum.

I confirmed it by ringing the local Jaycar dealer.

Here's what I wrote about it over at "the cult" on the 17th

I spoke to Jaycar today to find out how large the minimum indent order might be and won't get the answer till next week.

Meanwhile, there are still some stocks spread around the stores, possibly up to 40 or more nationwide. The stores can source units from each other, and generally don't charge freight if sourcing within the same state, although it is at the individual manager's discretion.

This means that those of you who are considering building one of these beasts should still be able to get drivers if you act quickly.

I never got a reply on the minimum size of a special order, or even if it was a possiblity

It was also confirmed by inm8, an IB builder from Tasmania

Your local dealer should be able to bring up a screen showing where any remaining stocks are.
