Fi q or btl any other suggestion for a HT sub?

Hey guys,

I was currently looking to get a FI q or btl for X-mas i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions to the sub i also like the Maelstrom x 18 but its a wee expensive when you compare to the FI btl or q for bang for buck?... oh 12 to 18 and between nothing out side price rand from 0

to 350

the BTL is not made for HT, it is an SPL sub for car audio. but, I used an IB driver in an LLT, so I can't say much. The Q is perfect for HT. If I had more money at the time, I'd have gotten a Q or a Maelstrom-X...I used the IB3 because I was limited on $$$

you can use a Btl ive seen it donw they just accommodate larger rooms 15x20 and larger!

you CAN use ANY driver you want. Do you know what the Incriminator Audio 21" Warden is? Do you know what the IA 21" Death Penalty is? How about the Digital Designs Z series? DC Audio? You could use any of those superb SPL moofers if you WANT. On the other end, you can use a 30 year old 10" x 15" oval organ driver with square magnets, paper cone, and acordian surround if you WANT to.

Check out my sig. I can do whatever I want too. But if you're going to buy a subwoofer for home theater and you have plenty of money, I suggest telling us what your goals and limitations are.

If you drop an 18" BTL or wait for the 22" BTL to come out and you make a build thread, I'd be the most interested person here...I think it would be neat... but i'm not recommending it.

What he said. If Fi is what you want then go for the Q series for HT.

Where have you seen a BTL in a HT setup?

Kevin, I don't know if you noticed or not, but the Fi BTL 18 is $414. I don't know if shipping is free or not for the BTL. The Mal-X was shipped to me for under $430.

I know most of those subs the z series among my favorite but the dd subs are outrageous for the hwat you get when the FI btl is only 414 free ship and the cooling option being free right now to!

But im not going to use the btl but if i could i would be able to switch it to a car sub im trying to be economically friendly...

Well lets put that behind us and think of this all as if they were the kickers!!!

kicker's arent for home use either, but there again I did a 4th order bandpass with an F3 of 20Hz with a 15" L7 then I converted it to 4.5 cubes sealed, but the PE 1000 watt amp wasn't nearly enough. The Z series is the most hardcore sub out there, hence the price.

Well it really doesnt matter what they were intened for, excuse the vague commentary but i will run them in my ht system!
