Sonosub Construction Question

Is internal dampening necessary in a sonosub? I am going to do something with the inside of the top for sure, but what about the inner walls of the sonotube itself? I plan on carpeting the outside if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

Also, if some lining on the inside of the sonotube is necessary, how does that effect the volume of the enclosure?

You'll definitely need to line the inner walls for acoustic resonance control. Other than that, you won't really have to worry about the effect it has on internal volume. Lining the walls will not have as significant an effect on internal volume as stuffing would, and the only people who need to worry about stuffing their subs are those with sealed subs

I just lined the inside of the cap opposite the driver. No complaints. The non-flat surfaces are great for eliminating internal resonance. I would not stuff it.
