want to make llt sonosub

I just completed a sub based on the ardrie sealed box (18X18X18) for a tempest driver. works very nice although it is better for music. and fits the WAF very well being small. I am in the planning stage for a large sub for when i get the basement home theater finished. As I have the OK from the Captain to go any size I want I was thinking on a 24" sonotube and using the 15" tempest in that. Modeling doesnt seem to show any advantage to making it tall but why not? If I get the gist of TTL I should be able to go 60" between endcaps and use a 6" port tuned to below 15 10 - 12? ,
that gives me 444l without accounting for port size. I have a 8 foot ceiling and like I said size is not an issue.

thanks for any input

Re: want to make llt sonosub

I'd use something better than the Tempest if possible. A 15" driver in a LLT typically won't want to see any more than 320 liters - there isn't much to gain beyond that. An 18" can use 600-700 liters. Not many options either way in the 450 liter range, at least not that I know of.

Re: want to make llt sonosub

yeah maybe im getting ahead of myself. I will probaly go with patmans sonotube sub 2. "http://www.io.com/~patman/sunosub2.html"
and take a look round for an 18" driver. I saw a site where the guy did a tv platform with 4 drivers. It was huge but because the tv sat on it it blended in.
thanks for the sanity check.
