Lord all mighty! If I didn't know I would say these are some super mega expensive pair of boxes!
Incredible finish! Congratulations Robert! When are you going to mount the woofers?

Best Regards
Joaquim

Re: 4 18" 5400's and 8 passives "WOW!"

I know what it was . . . . The ElectroVoice "Patrician" they were offered with either an 18" driver or even with a 32" woofer in it, a folded horn speaker from the 1960s . . . . that's what my mind was in awe of. But that's all over now ever since I've been following Robert's build.

My buddy and I built an ElectroVoice "Georgian" (from plans). It was a slightly smaller folded corner horn using a 15 driver, mid range and tweeter compression horns. It weighed a ton, sounded spectacular.

Scott,

I was hoping for deep and authoritative.

The cabs are moved to their new home. Now ready for assembly.

Mind numbingly deep and authoritative.

Those cabinets are beautiful! They must be a sight to behold in person.

Looking forward to seeing them all set up. You must be thrilled. Truly an impressive build. Nice work Robert.

Have the warning notices been sent out to the neighbors.

Robert,
Man!!! I get the squigglees when I look at these pics. If I let my mind go, they look like alien space ports. Are they?
How do you get the interior of the boxes to lighten up like that? Yer good!

I believe that's the first time I've seen a man next to the enclosures. NOW there's no question of the huge size of those (behemoths?) Is that a good term?

By the way, the granite is now on the tops and drivers will be in some time in the next decade. NASA has requested final inspection certification and mock up procedures.

Re: 4 18" 5400's and 8 passives "WOW!"

Man, that is just plain scary! I mean seeing the LMS mounted in that beautiful cabinet with the PRs is jaw dropping . . . . . I mean Mine has been in the box for over a year. I haven't seen anything but the cone or held it in my arms for way too long, then to be able to see one mounted from the inside out is awesome!
And to think that the weight of that huge enclosure will be more LMS and PRs than MDF just doesn't compute. Am I right about the weight distribution thing?

Re: 4 18" 5400's and 8 passives "WOW!"

Heres a little different view.

The cabs weighed almost 450 pounds. With drivers grills and granite and wires and 100's of bolts and nuts about 1000 pounds total

Re: 4 18" 5400's and 8 passives "WOW!"

The actual bulky and incredibly heavy assembly process is done! I have a little bit of tedious stuff to go, but the bulk is done. New info is soon to come.

Thanks,

Robert
