Questions before building sono.

Hello, I wanna start my sono build and I have a few small questions :

A) when cutting the inner endcaps, do they need to be the same as the inner diameter
of the tube, or a little bigger so it would fit with some pressure ?

b) when attaching the endcaps to the tube itself, do you use just glue or somthing
else also ?

Thanks !

You want to achieve a tight fit. I used carpenters glue to glue the tube to the endcaps. Some brands of tubes have a transparent release film on the inside that glue will not stick to. This film needs to be removed, it peels off easily.

You definitely don't want the OD of the endcaps bigger than the ID of the tube or else they will never fit in, even with a LOT of force. You'll permanently deform the tube before you'll get it to stretch much (which is why it works so well as a subwoofer enclosure).

Keep your tolerances tight enough and you can achieve an air tight fit without any need for adhesives.

I do have the "transparent release film" on the inside. good thing you told me.

My tube is 500mm ID so the inner endcap should be 500mm ?

Yes. Using glue on the endcaps can't hurt. Better safe then sorry, in my opinion.
