| PE 240 Watt plate amp Anyone have any experience with this amp? More specifically, with its current handling capability? I have 3 of the surplus NHT 10" subs that I'd like to use in a sealed box and am wondering if the amp will handle all 3 in parallel. The subs have an Re of 9.58 ohms, but I don't have any way to measure/model the impedance curve. Thanks. Jason | |||

| Re: PE 240 Watt plate amp the nom impedance will be fine since then nom. of each driver is about 14ohms but the wattage is insufficient. I'm using 2 in a 6.5cuft ported system and the system looks good at 350 watts. Three sealed will be looking at around 500 watts. Good luck. | |||

| Re: PE 240 Watt plate amp Jason, have you bought the amp already? If not, you should check out the OAudio 500w plate amp. It goes for $229. I'll be using these same drivers in a future sealed build and have been playing around in WinISD looking at what the results might be using parametric equalization - which the OAudio has builtin. Looks to me one could get response curves equal to ported with F3 of 23hz. As far as impedance goes, your looking a 4.67 ohms with all three in parallel, however the curves shows it never gets that low - so completely safe with 4ohm plate amps. | Re: PE 240 Watt plate amp The OAudio amp does look good! I haven't bought the amp yet, so I'll definitely consider it. I was just considering the PE because it's on sale for $99 right now. Thanks for the info on the impedance curve. | |||
