| High pass /group delay linked It appears to me when I apply a high pass filter in winISD to prevent over excursion, the group delay increases significantly--is this anything to be concerned with (audible)?? I am looking at a Tempest X in a 380-400 liter enclosure with 1 X 8" port and 500 wpc amp tuning 15-16 Hz I thought there was a graph or article or rule of thumb about this somewhere? Thanks | |||

| Re: High pass /group delay linked Interesting. I just can't get my head around why adding a high pass would affect group delay or transient response, either... Hopefully someone in the know will chime in... | |||

| Re: High pass /group delay linked Any filter introduces delay effects at some frequency. There are ALWAYS trade-offs in the application of filters. The question is whether the gains in frequency response are worth the trade-offs in phase response.
