| Help me with my sonotube, pls! Alright, So I am now moving into the HT world from 12v. I just picked up 2 13Ov.2 D4 drivers from ED http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=35 I want to make 2 16 inch sonotube enclosures for them. They will be powered by an ep2500. I have been doing a lot of reasearch on the actual build of the box, but am still unclear on how to get an optimal DESIGN for it. I have tried WinISD but it just seems over my head. So please let me know what I need to do! In return for help I will be sure to take alot of pictures of me messing stuff up and make a build thread. Thanks for any help. Cody | |||

| Re: Help me with my sonotube, pls! Google and search are your friends. Google Sonosub for modeling software to get going. You've provided some basic information, but knowing your design goals and restrictions might help. It may also help to know about the choices that you've already made, such as why 16" and how you decided to buy the particular drivers. Good luck! Doug | |||

| Re: Help me with my sonotube, pls! I bought the driver because they were on clearence for 70 bucks, 16" sonotube, just kinda throwing that out there. Really I am looking for any design that would hit me nice and low. Just never had one of those " did you just feel that" HT's. I have searched and googled and been all over trying to figure out how to design my own box, but it seems everything starts at an advanced level when it comes to ports and tuning. Like in sonosube if I model my driver @ 130l tuned to 20hz with a 6 inch port @ 36inches. I have no idea if this works, just tough to get. 5 bucks for anyone who can give me some good options, sonotube or not. LOL | |||

| | Re: Help me with my sonotube, pls! To get the most out of them, 6 cubic feet tund to 18 hz looks good for these subs. Port diameter is 6 inch and length would be about 34 inches long. With 400 watts input, cone excursion is reached at 24 and 16 hz. I would recommend a subsonic filter at 18hz. To save some space, 4 cubic feet tuned to 20 hz. You would save 2 cubic feet and give up some low end output. Here is a sonosub program to help with the design. http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/sonosub.htm We're all in this together! | |||
