| EP2500 in extreme temps? I am trying to find a place to put my ep2500 and don't really want it in the family room with all its fan noise. I could do the mod but that costs a few extra bucks and voids my warranty. So this makes me wonder if I could stick it in the garage. I live in oklahoma so summers are hot and winters are cold. I originally thought no way but then I remembered all the car audio amps that do fine in 130 degree cars. Would it do ok? | |||

| Re: EP2500 in extreme temps? They may survive storage at 130C but they aren't running in that heat for very long (no one sits in a 130C car with the windows closed with the sub cranked up). I know nothing about the Behringer Amp in particular but in general performance is going to suffer over temperature extremes as the electrical performance of the devices in the Amp start to drift over temp. In theory fan life degrades as well if you run it in a hot environment. | |||

| Re: EP2500 in extreme temps? could do it yes, not suggested as that is how you can and will kill an amp thats not made for the cold and heat changes. Do the mod, where did you get it from? are you sure the warranty is even valid? I havent heard of a single one dying on anyone, I felt super safe doing the mod and have no problems at all. it is your choice but i suggest doing the mod and leaving it indoors. | |||

| Re: EP2500 in extreme temps? Looks like I"m a little late on this thread but I think the amp would be fine. It's a pro amp that is designed to be used on the road in harsh conditions and even if the ambient temps were warm it is hardly asked for much output. If it gets itself too hot it will shut down. Also, I assume that if it is in the garage it would be constantly powered on which in the winter should generate enough heat to keep the amp at room temp if not warmer. Have you checked the users manual? Usually it'll list a range of operating conditions. | |||
