And the Sickness Begins....

well, this is my first Sonosub build(the first of 2 )
after a bunch of questions and a metric buttload of MDF dust, the first is done.

I wish now I would have taken some Build pics, but like a kid at Christmas,I couldn't think of anything else but playing with my new toy
I'll be doing Build pics when I do the twin.

Heres the down and dirty-
Ep2500
TC2000
411 litres tuned to 12.6
A BFD1124(but that's not in the loop yet)

I've been playing with this Monolith(as the GF calls it) a bit and Man am I loving it.
first night I fired it up just playing with some freq sweeps in the 10-50 Hz range, the GF asked me to stop it cause she started feeling nauseous.(she was 3 rooms away at the other end of the house!)

anyway, heres my first attempt at a graph w/REW.

I'm thinking between my computer fan and the ep2500,I may need to drag the tube to the other room for REW.

Or,I could be messing up somewhere .

Hey, John,

That looks very good. With a BFD, you should be able to get that really flat. ]

Are your mains on in that plot?

I'd probably mod the fan on that EP2500 - I hear that stock fan noise from 1" is something like ~67db.

No. thats just the sub.

the sub is in the corner of the room, with the spl meter on a tripod @2 meters away at ear level (5-5.5 ft)

The example sub in this thread (excellent by the way) is but one more reason why Steve Callas needs to go into the sub building business for us woodshop challenged bassheads, no joke.

... call it LLT Subwoofers, Inc.
