Sub crossover with proamp

Making a passive sub crossover is expensive due to the high mH rating needed on the inductor, and buying a active crossover isn't an option just yet, and even if it was, I'd only be using the sub out portion, so it would be a waste of money anyway. My 'receiver' doesn't have a sub out, as I'm using the Dayton amp150 (or whatever it's called) to power my speakers.

I was thinking of using this as my sub crossover, but I was trying to think of a way to power it. Could I just use a ac-dc adapter to power it? It can't take too much power to get that subcrossover working can it?

Any other options you guys have in mind would be very helpful.

Hi i used one similar many moons ago,
its a simple 12-15 vdc adaptor needed powered of the mains supply as you mention. It should have no problem powering it , it probably only consumes 1 or 2 amps.

Perhaps when your ready you could buy a behringer cx-3400 or cx 2310crossover, great value for money, cheap and last.

Have you considered using this money to upgrade to a receiver that does have a sub out? You should be able to pick up a used one pretty cheap one off of craigslist or ebay.
