| New to the game, a few quick questions. Hi, I am in the middle of designing a dual 12" coffee table sub, and I am in the midst of selecting an amplifier. The Behringer Europower 1500 looks like a solid enough amp for my needs. What else is required to make sure this amp does not play full range through the subwoofers? The Behringer will be hooked up to my HT via the subwoofer out. Thanks! | |||

| Re: New to the game, a few quick questions. Hi Mike, Thanks for the quick reply! I have a Highpass Linkwitz-Riley filter 4th order 18hz cutoff modeled in WinISD to control excursion. Will this do the job of the subsonic filter? | |||

| Re: New to the game, a few quick questions. I have 2 car audio subwoofers from my old boot install that I will be using. They are Alpine Type-R's. Model 1221D. Both are dual 2ohm subwoofers, so one sub per channel on the amp with each sub showing a 4ohm load. Not ideal, but they work pretty nicely in WinISD in the 7-8 cu^ft enclosure tuned @ 20hz. Specs: Qts: 0.382 Qms: 8.680 Vas: 58L Qes: 0.400 Fs: 27Hz SPL: 86.59dB Xmax: 13.3mm Xdamage: 27.5mm Sd: 0.0467 m^2 Thanks for showing interest. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as this is a first build for me. ![]() Last edited by hsv2kk; 01-04-08 at 07:07 AM. Reason: Added driver details | |||

| Re: New to the game, a few quick questions. A reckhorn B-1 is perfect for that aplication, it gives you, variable subsonic, variable highpass and variable boost. And its not expensive or very big. | |||

| Re: New to the game, a few quick questions. Has anyone seen, or used glass or plexiglass on there installs? I would love to have the bottom of the coffee table glass black with a timber top with a glass window set inside of it, to see inside of the enclosure. Any ideas on what thickness glass would be required, etc? Thanks guys! | |||

| Re: New to the game, a few quick questions. I think you'd want pretty thick plexiglass, and wouldn't want to make the window very big, since it is a pretty flexible material, and you won't be able to brace the enclosure where you put your window. You'd also want to make sure it is very tightly sealed so you don't get any air leakage around it. I'm not sure if you could use multiple layers of thinner plexi, but I suppose that could work. | |||
