My wife never tells me anything about the volume or the shaking. That is not to say she doesn't complain about a host of other things. But, as far as the sound goes, I'm good to go.

i own the xti2000 and the xti1000, the bass sounds really clean, you got endless of EQing and HP, LP filters at almost any slopes you want, theres so many tuning you can do with System Architect, it's amazing, the i-tech is their flagship and is supposed to be A LOT more hardcore than the xti series, that includes build quality, RMS specs output are a lot more real than the xti, and people say that it sounds very very good and healthy. The only problem I can see about the I-tech is that it's very very expensive, but hey, you get what you pay for!!

If I were you and had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to get the i-tech, definatly can't go wrong with crown.

I'd use these amps:

One for each driver, which means one 2500W channel per voice coil. That is of course if you want the ultimate. A Behringer EP2500 per driver should be power enough.

how much is this amp over there in the US? (the QSC one)

qsc rmx 5050 ----$1300.00-$1500.00.

TC sounds told me that the rmx would be just enough for the lms 5400. But, if I wanted lots of headroom and more power, get the itech 8000-lot more money though. I can get two itech 8000's
for $6000.00 and I would not need external crossovers and overall less current draw.

Any thoughts.

Comparing power, quality, accuracy, and versatility, there isn't another amp that comes close to the I-Tech 8000! I agree with the people at TC Sounds.
If you've got the money and want the most headroom for your eye-popping project get the KING of amps, the I-Tech 8000.
8000 watts of bridged amplifier . . . . . I can't comprehend . . . . . and two of em for $6000.00 . . . . .

You'll also want to consider how you will be able to run power to the amps, based on the combination. For example, the EP2500's will draw 9.6A each (only measurement given in the spec, and is I believe peak draw based on an email I got back from them), which means you could put two on a 20A circuit. Whereas the RMX5050 lists 13.9A as "typical" with it going as high as 26.9A (I'm not sure what that means if you run it at home).

the berenger wouldn't even be enough to get the 5400's going before clipping the amp. Chasw98 tested the berenger at the avs forum, and I will post his link if you like. He gives real numbers for the amps he tests and he is unbiased. That said, I have a minimum of 40 amps for the subs and a total of 100 amps for my entire system. I was hoping each crown itech 8000 would function flawlessly on a 20 amp breaker. The 5050's work fine a a 20 amp breaker but could be better used with a 30 amp breaker each. This is my dilemma. I am swaying towards the itech 8000's. I would definitely have enough power at that point, but cost is greatly increased. I will be closer to a decision when the subs get closer to being done.

Robert . . . . . you are aware of course that if you go the I-Tech 8000 amps route along with the battery - salvo array of LMS-5400 18s and PRs, that you'll be the singular man in the subwoofer universe with the MOST low-down power ever assembled!!??

Oh, buy the way, would you be buying the amps through the guy in Wauwatosa Wi.? If so, that's where I bought my XTi-4000. Excellent service, product was as advertised.

Brianf is the guy. The amps are b stock. I've had b stock before, and it is new but was "touched" by humans before me. I am glad to hear that he is upstanding.

I'm swaying toward the crowns. With them, I won't need extra rack space for crossovers and the like. All of the filters and electronics are built into the crowns. Plus, the price is right.

The xti amps can only have the filters centered between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. You will get boost below 20 Hz technically if you set the filter near 20 Hz, but you can't center it any lower.

YES! You can center the filter at 20Hz, set the gain to plus 15db, and then spread the parametric equalizer so it slopes slowly/gradually below 20Hz. You lost me on the high pass filter. Can you set the high pass filter lower then 20Hz? (If so I get it

No, but the selected type of curve (Linkwitz Riley or Butterworth) and the degree of slope (6db, 12db, 18db, 24db, 48db) will affect the (adjusted curve) below 20Hz that you have installed with the PEQ . . . . . if you know what I mean.
Nothing in the Crown literature tells you this, it all came to pass with my own experimentation.
