| | Re: illka... or anyone who really knows about subs Most subs here are designed for home theater use. If you're considering using the SDX-15 in an automotive application, I suggest you contact Bob Riemer at Creative Sound and see what he recommends. http://www.creativesound.ca/contact.html We're all in this together! | |||

| Re: Questions about SDX15 I feel it is a very good driver for the money, and sounds excellent. It has been compared to the TC Sounds TC-2000(no longer available); it has very similar capabilities, and distortion figures. It would work very nicely in an SUV. The size and tuning of the enclosure depends on you goals, do you want the best sound quality, output, or a good in-between? How much space are you willing to give up in your vehicle? The sdx15 works well in smallish(2.5cubic feet) to large(8cubic feet) sealed enclosures as well as reasonably(5cubic feet) sized passive radiator and vented enclosures all the way up to massive(16cubic feet) vented enclosures. I have fed the SDX15 1300watts rms for reasonably long periods of time while testing it for my products. And it takes it very well. Most of the time power handling and requirements depend largely on the enclosure. | |||
