| Already built the enclosures- now I want roundover edges? I've already cut all of the pieces for my enclosures. I've also already assembled both of them, aside from the enclosure tops. I realize it would have been much easier to do before assemly, but now I have decided I want roudover edges. Is there a good way to go about this? If so- how? I don't think the sub openings will be hard nor the port openings- because I haven't cut the holes yet. However- I am stumped on a good way to round all of the other edges evenly. Any tips to offer? | |||

| Re: Already built the enclosures- now I want roundover edges? Hi Josh, If you mean what I think you mean then you'd just use a router with a roundover bit. If you don't have one ask your mates - someone is bound to have one. It's a very simple operation. Regards, Tony | |||

| Re: Already built the enclosures- now I want roundover edges? Sorry, I should have mentioned I have a router and roundover bit. However- any other time I have built an enclosure I do the following- 1) I cut my pieces 2) roundover 3) assemble. Maybe I'm not thinking clearly since it's early, but how do I keep the router straight when I run down the exterior edges of my assembled enclosures? | |||

Most roundover bits have a bearing at the bottom, which will guide the bit against the side. If yours doesn't, they don't cost a lot to buy. If you're going to be go down this route it's worth making a temporary sub-base for your router that sticks out several inches to one side (so it would rest on the 'top' as you route). This makes it much easier to avoid tipping the router as you run down the side. Does that all make sense? Regards, Tony ![]() Last edited by tonyjover; 03-04-08 at 08:07 AM. | ||||

| Re: Already built the enclosures- now I want roundover edges? Well- looks like I wasn't thinking clearly due to it being early in the morning. I forgot all about the bearing that's on the end of the bit. ![]() Thanks!! | |||
