Using an "IB" driver in a Sealed Enclosure?

I ran across an AE IB15 setup the other day and that got me cheching into those drivers. The T/S parameters look good and that thing has the lowest Fs I have ever seen in a 15"er. The price is rather attractive too. I don't think I would ever have enough space to do an actual IB setup. However, I could probably swing some really large sealed boxes. I was thinking on the order of 16.5 cu.ft. and completely stuffed with dampening material. It models up reasonably well and the sealed boxes help to limit excursion in the sub-20Hz region. I just don't know if there is anything out of the ordinary about using an "IB" driver in this sort of situation.

I think four of these and a little EQ would rock!! What are your opinions? Also...any suggestions on an appropriate two channel pro amp? They don't need much...probably 300W per channel into 4ohms.

I don't see wht it wouldn't work, especially if the focus is not the sub-20Hz region. Can you post a pic of the modelling you did?

We're all in this together!

Actually, I'm not interested unless I can produce a response down to 10 Hz. I realize that using a sealed box rather than an IB will restrict my low end some, but it models up only a few dB lower at 10Hz. Am I missing something?

Sealed 470L box.

4000L IB
