I'm thrilled to open the Exodus Audio Forum at Home Theater Shack!
For those who don't know me, I'm Kevin Haskins, owner and operator of DIYCable Inc. The Exodus Audio brand was created by me to cover all the products that are unique to my company. Most of them are designed in-house or by my good friend Dan Wiggins, formerly of Adire Audio. These products cover a range of categories, from amplifiers, loudspeakers to subwoofers.
DIYCable is a small family run company. I am the primary mover and shaker and for the most part, I'm a one-man operation. Dan works with me on a consulting basis so he isn't on the books. I run my operation, out of small industrial site so I have a real warehouse, I'm not working from my two-car garage (although I did when I started my company). My wife helps with bookkeeping, my kids do a little labor and my dog cleans the floor when I drop my lunch but for the most part, I'm a one-man show. I try to keep my relationships with my customers personal. If you phone, you will get me. If you email, you will get a response from me. If you write me a letter, I'll be the one to answer. As a result, I don't get to pass the blame for mistakes onto someone else. As they say, the buck stops here.
Being a small company has advantages and disadvantages. If you like dealing with a real person, who stands behind their work, and keeps their word, you will like dealing with me. I try my best to be prompt and give great customer service, but I'm just one guy. Sometimes I'm spread a little thin. I really do enjoy what I do. I enjoy helping people, especially DIYers interested in getting great sound. There are some wonderful people in this business and some of my customers have become genuine friends that I hope to know the rest of my life.
My long-term plans for Exodus Audio, are to extend our transducer lineup, both subwoofers & loudspeaker drivers. We utilize several unique technologies developed by Dan Wiggins. Dan holds the patent for the XBL^2 motor technology, a split-gap motor topology and has several pending patents on suspension components and inductance control. Lots of cool stuff and I look forward to keeping Dan busy thinking outside the box.
I'm looking forward to participating here at Home Theater Shack. Sonnie has built a fantastic resource for the hard-core home theater fanatic. The Room EQ Wizard, BFD Guide and the subwoofer test by Ilkka are a comprehensive set of tools and information that can help those interested in building a world-class home theater. There are plenty of great resources here and I'm looking forward to contributing in any way I can.
Please feel free to drop-in with any comments or questions at the new Exodus Audio Forum.
