I'm updating this information putting it into all my documentation. I hate to be legalistic but unfortunately it is just part of doing business. It is best that everyone knows my policies so that they can determine if DIY is appropriate for their circumstances.

First off, building a sub is not always easier or better than a finished product. Many people are better off buying commercial subwoofers. They are tested with the box, amplifiers and everything ready to rock. They offer great value for subwoofers that have to fit in a given size. Where DIY starts to make a lot of sense, is when box sizes get larger. It becomes increasingly less cost effective to build and ship large heavy subwoofers. They tend to require freight shipping and it becomes less and less cost effective to build, support and ship very large subwoofers.

Why would anyone want a large subwoofer to begin with? Well... there are laws of physics at work. Large subs are more efficient down low. They can deliver more bandwidth with less power than a smaller sub.

Back to the reason for the post though. I'm going to make this a sticky so that it is right up front where everyone can read and know the policy. I have it on my web site under policy stuff and under shipping and returns. It is also on every piece of subwoofer documentation on the entire site. I want people to understand our policies up front so they can know what they are getting into.


Part I.

Limited Warranty:

Exodus Audio warrants its products to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 1 year from date of purchase. Exodus Audio and/or its designated representatives shall have all final determination about the validity of a warranty claim.

This warranty shall not apply to any product that has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident or abnormal conditions of operation. Improper installation is not covered under warranty.

This warranty is limited to Exodus Audio equipment only. It does not extend to any other equipment or product connected to or operated in conjunction with this product. We are not responsible for any damage to other equipment or product arising from the use of this product.

Exodus Audio’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing or refunding the original purchase price (exclusive of shipping charges), at Exodus Audio’s option, any product returned within 1 year of purchase date, provided that Exodus Audio determines the unit is defective and has been used in compliance with the terms of this warranty.
