Super Lanboy

Anyone know of any RF dimmer switches for incandescent lights that will work with the Logitech Harmony 900?

I can tell you already that the Leviton Vizea RF will not, it is z-wave. The Lutron Maestro wireless i am being told by Lutron that it is a prepriatory frequency and it can only be used with a URC remote.

I originally wanted the Maestro and almost ordered it.....

I have two sets of accent lights in the HT and want to control them independantly. The front lights near my screen are hooked to an IR Maestro and it works great with my harmony 900 other then having to point at it. I do have the IR module in my closet with my components.

I am looking for idea's to control my back lights near my seating. I have one mini blaster in the closet that is not being used. If I can not find an RF switch I could make/buy a 10 foot extender wire for the mini blaster (how to do this I am not sure?) and use another IR switch.

Ideas?????? :hissyfit:

I am planning on doing a full over haul,

HTPC

AMD Phantom II x4 905e 65 watts 2.5 GHz and will OC on rare occasions through the front bus when doing video editing and burning large amounts data.

ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX

FSP Group ZEN 400 400W ATX 2.2V SLI Certified CrossFire it is fanless and bronze 80 cert

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 can OC to 1600 in future will buy another 4GB

LG Black Blu-ray Reader & 16x DVD Burner

1.5 TB Seagate green Harddrive

Windows 7

And I am open to suggestions on video cards Willing to spend up 200 I will mostly use this for HD TV must be able run cross fire with the motherboard cause i plan to hook up the video on the motherboard to a seperate 21 inch monitor so i can surf the web as i watch tv on the TV

I am going to wait for Cable Cards to come out before I dive into tv tuners cause I don't want a the extra digital cable box

Should I buy a seperate sound card?

I am going to go with water cooling CPU, GPU, and north bridge, and I might build a radiator to hang in case to suck out any extra heat,, and I will build my own external radiator and pump assembly since I do plumbing for a living and I will mount a fan by that so when OC i can flip in on to dissapate the extra heat and So I hope to have a completely passive system 90+% of the time.

Some of the other key components of my set up are.

A 65 or 73 in Mitsubishi DLP TV

A Pioneer 840 watt 7.1 receiver

For speakers I am just going to set up speakers that I have lying around right now in a 5.1 setup but will upgrade to quality mid range 7.1 when the money is available.

Custom Stand for TV with space for HTPC, Reciever, center mount speaker, and three 12'' subs on the bottom but I will ask about that part in a different location. And I will leave space in the center incase I ever buy a Wii.

So if you have any tips suggestions thoughts concerns please let me know. And Should I run my HDMI cable from my comp into the receiver and then the TV or should I go computer to TV and use the optical out to the receiver. Thank you very much for all your help

I have an Auzentech Hometheatre HD board installed in my HTPC [Win7 x64 Home Premium] with an Onkyo TX-SR875 receiver....

I have an Auzentech Hometheatre HD board installed in my HTPC [Win7 x64 Home Premium] with an Onkyo TX-SR875 receiver. Everything works brilliantly EXCEPT I cannot get the board to output either DTS-HD, DTA-MA or Dolby True HD. Dolby 5.1, DTS etc all work fine.

The video is fine, no issues with handshaking.

I was on the phone with Onkyo and worked through all options to no avail, for example the received shows that is receiving DTS 5.1 when it should be receiving DTS HD. Yes, I know that DTS HD is often 5.1. The receiver will show when it receives a HD audio stream of any type.

I have used the MONINFO program to created INF files and installed them on the HTPC. It hasnt made any difference though.

I am using Powerdvd9 with the options as suggested by Auzentech:
- Speakers: Use HDMI. Output mode: Non decoded hi def to external device.
- Windows: Set speakers as default playback device. No other HDMI devices are enables.
- Auzen console: Encoder is turned off. HDMI tab is set to play audio from speakers through HDMI.

I am running the latest Powerdvd9 patch and also the latest TotalMediaTheatre patch. The amp shows that is receiving DTS 5.1 [not DTS HD as it should]. Both TMT and PDVD are set to use HDMI out. TMT is setup to use DTS encoding rather than use the standard sound track. PDVD is set to output as non decoded. When running Ice Age 2, PDVD shows that it is outputting DTS HD. The HDMI cable being used is the one that came with the Auzen board, I have also tried another cable that I have.

Am I missing something?

Anyone with experience with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have a Mitsubishi HC1500 and I hooked it up to my laptop to play on my projector. I'm using the RGB (D-sub 15-pin) connector between the two.
My computer is an HP Pavillion zv5000 Pentium 4, 3GHz with 640MB of RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon 9000/9100 IGP (what ever that is). I'm guessing its a video card.

I try to watch a movie or Youtube videos through the Mitsubishi projector and the picture is quite jerky. It will become smooth then jumpy or jerky again.

What is the issue? I'm thinking that I need to upgrade something on my laptop. Maybe RAM or video card.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.
