About two months ago, my grandfather (Francis) was diagnosed with lung cancer. The doctors thought it had started out as Pneumonia, but a more in depth test showed that it was indeed lung cancer.
My mom, dad, and I packed up our stuff and drove my grandparents motorhome down to M.D. Anderson for treatment. My grandparents flew down once we arrived at the clinic. They stayed there for two weeks, then headed home becuase my grandpa's lung kept having issues with it, and they couldn't start treatment right away. The hospitals here in Vegas could also give him the chemo that he needed, so why stay there...
My dad and I flew home a day after arriving in Texas, and went on with life as usual. When my grandparents and my mom were ready to come home, my dad flew back down, and drove the coach back home. 550 miles approximately each day for three days.
They all got home safely, and a week passed. One night when my family and I were eating dinner, we got a call from my grandma and asked that my mom rushed over as soon as she could. Luckily, my grandparents and my parents both share a driveway
So, she got over there, and asked my dad to come over right away also. When we got there, my grandpa was having a stroke. My mom, dad and grandma rushed him to the hospital, and he recovered from the stroke that night. Everything seemes fine.
About two days later, I went to visit him in the hospital. He seemed pretty good while I was there, but about an hour after I left, things took a turn for the worse. His pulse was up to 190bpm (no joke...), and they had given him enough sleeping medication to make a horse sleep. He just didn't want to go to sleep. My grandma thinks that he was scared to, fearing for his life. He hadn't been getting enough oxygen to his brain (because he smoked for 50 years), so he was kinda delusional. The doctors didn't think that he would have any chance making it through the night.
My dad and I got a call the next morning that grandpa was fine. His pulse was back down to somewhere around 80bpm, so hopes were up. This whole time while my grandpa was in the hospital, my mom, sister, and grandma had stayed the night with him, and spent most of the days with him also, usually only leaving to get food, clothes, or to take a shower.

My mom had called me and told me to be ready to do school around 7 in the morning the next day.

I woke up at 6 am the next morning, and I heard my mom's voice, my dad's and a few other relatives' voices. I was fearing what had happened...
I walked out of my room, and he (grandpa) had passed away that night around 3am. It was only two months that he had to live from the time that he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He lived those two months in his house, just watching outside the windows. He was always outside doing stuff. My dad and I had to work on his small pond, and I looked over to see him just watching out the window at us. That really broke my heart seeing him there as all he wanted to do was go outside and get out of the house.

My grandfather is a great man. He loved the Lord, and is seeing him right now. My grandma told that my grandpa had said that he hated himself for ever smoking. He worked hard his whole life, and it paid off dearly for him as my grandma is in a great spot right now with not having to worry about getting funds to live on. My family and I will miss him dearly.

My grandma and mom are having a hard time, so I'm asking that if you can, to keep them in your prayers. My grandma had been married for 50+ years to him, so she is having a hard time without him. My grandma's name is Kay, and my mom's name is Janet.

Thanks
