I recently had convergence problems so I replaced the two IC's that were in question. I have read many posts here as a new user and found one of my pico fuses also to be open now. Would one blown fuse give me this 3 second power on/off problem and could I have gotten bad parts or possibly just a bad repair job on my part? I'm wondering if I should order all new IC's and fuses and start over? This is my first attempt at repairing this TV I bought in Nov 2000. Any help is appreciated. Utah

I've already talk with the internet provider and it has been determined that if all the other HDTV work fine it's the TV itself. Any ideas or suggestions to help resolve this problem.
Now when I plug it in i get the initial flashes indicating the processor is fired up and when i check the self diagnostics it flashes 1-2 indicating normal but i get no picture, there is sound but no picture.

I have a Mits. WS 55511 wont come on, code 22 stored, Fuses f9a04 and f9a05 blown. I want to try to replace parts on my own as I could buy a new set for the price of repairs at local shop. I've read about convergence problem but would like specific parts I need to replace. This seems to be a common problem with this model.

Leonard,
I have a Mitsubishi WS55511 that was manufactured Aug 2002. The set was purchased in Decatur, Illinois at Team Electronics our area Mitsubishi dealer. Since then they have gone out of business. We use the television when we have family holiday get togethers around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It probably only gets viewed about 20-30 hours each year. About 2-3 years after we bought the set it started getting the blinking green light. We would shut the set off for a couple days and re-set it. Last week we noticed the light blinking again and it wouldn't re-set. After seeing many other posts online with the same problem I decided to try to take the DM board out as some suggested and replace the capacitors. From some of your posts I gathered you may be an authorized Mitsubishi dealer or service tech. First off do you think it would do any good at all to contact Mitsubishi about this? Is so is there a certain number to call that handles this problem since it seems they got a batch of defective capacitors? We did our research when we bought the set and thought at the time Mitsubishi was the best on the market, now we don't think so. After spending over $3000 on the set initially we really don't feel we can dish out another $800-1000 to repair it so we are hopeful they will help.

Last night I started taking the DM board out. I looked at the capacitors on the DM board and they don't seem to be bulged. From some of your earlier posts (2007) I believe you suggested replacing ALL the capacitors. Is that still your recommendation? Also are there other steps I need to do while the set is apart? Thank you for any and all help or input. I need to get this fixed, Thanksgiving is only a little over a week away. Take care, Shooter

Hello everyone, I have a Mitsu WT-43211 that fails to turn on. Has the typical fault that I have read on the posts. When the power is selected on, the green led flashes and a click is heard and it fails to turn on. Holding the menu and input shows the 2 pause 2 fault code. I have removed the back cover and getting ready to start T/S. Im looking at any that might be an easy fix, loose connector, loose solder joints etc... My first question, when i pull the light box, is it ok to lay the box on its side? While I inspect the solder joints. Im afraid it may leak coolant as I have heard that it will happen.

The guy I got it from had the local TV repair shop out to look at it. He reports as follows: "they said something about a capacitor, or something like that, and that it'd be $200 or so."

So, that's great info. Might as well be blinker fluid or a thermal gonkulator, as descriptive as that is.

I'd love to have a jumping off point for this troubleshooting process as the thing still makes an image, so I hate to throw it out.

Thanks to any and all.

I have some curved upward horizontal convergence grids at the very bottom when in consumer advanced convergence. My convergence adjustments work correctly, the grid lines are white and it holds convergence great. The picture looks great in HD and 480i. The picture does not appear curved to my eyes but the black borders on either side of the image when displayed, are slightly bowed in. Is this adjustable thru service convergence? Otherwise the set at 9 years old looks great. It was moved to my residence about 4 months ago and was re converged once placed in the living room and was noticed then.

TV worked fine yesterday. No issues prior to today. Picture has always been great.

Powered on tonight and got nothing. No sound, no video, no lights. Its as if its dead. Unplugged and reconnected power. Front panel LED turned on solid. No video, no sound. I powered off again using front panel power button. Now, its completely dead. Nothing at all. Tried holding down Menu and Input for 5+ seconds but get nothing in response.

Removed back panel and checked main fuse and all pico fuses. All have continuity. All capacitors that I can see from the rear of the TV look good. Nothing swollen or leaking that I can see. No signs of CRT leakage.

I can hear the high pitched whine of the HV circuit (I guess) when I first connect the power cable. That lasts for about 1 second. Thats all I get. Wall socket is verified to be 120VAC and good.

No power outages or bad weather in the last days. TV is connected to a Panamax Max 5300 so it should be reasonably surge protected...

Any ideas? I suspect a main power supply problem. Any tips on how I can test to determine if its an easy fix? I'm good with electronics, soldering/desoldering is not an issue. I have the tools.

:help:

Thanks in advance.
