| Re: My New Fi Q18 Sub Project -Input Wanted Please OK, question... I got it setup, messed around with placement some, seems pretty good, not quite as loud but more tactile. However, I was doing a sine test somewhere around 20hz and while the clip lights on my EP2500 NEVER came on, the amp tripped its internal circuit breaker. How could I do this before ever clipping the amp? The amp is plugged directly into the wall outlet. Thanks, -Mike | ||||

| Re: My New Fi Q18 Sub Project -Input Wanted Please Hmmmm. You only tripped the breaker in the amp and not the breaker on the line that the sub is plugged into right? What is the line that the EP is run off of? 10A, 15A? That would be strange for the breaker to trip on the amp without even getting into clipping at all. Perhaps severe voltage sag would cause it. Sine waves are rough on the driver and amp, be careful with that stuff. The amp would be under a much heavier load than with any sort of music. It could be a protection in the amp due to overheating. Is your driver a D2? Can you put a meter on the terminals and get a reading? | ||||

| Re: My New Fi Q18 Sub Project -Input Wanted Please My breaker is 15 amp I believe on the wall outlet, my projector, receiver and DVD player are also on this same outlet. I can test the ohm level of the sub sure. Should I measure each set of terminals or would the binding post on the box be ok? My driver is a D2 and my surge suppressor/filter is a monster power and although my amp is not plugged into it they go to the same outlet box so I can actually watch what sort of voltage that outlet produces during bass with the display in the monster power as well as how much amperage my other equipment is drawing.
