received my Q18 today

Hi folks,

My two Q18 drivers arrived today. I would like to know if this is ok. It doesn't have the logo. I know it's just the logo but of course, it makes us feel when we don't see the logo on something we bought, we feel something is missing.

And also folks, is it ok to drill holes because some holes are not aligned well? I'm just hoping that when I drill it, it won't damage the material.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Neil

EDIT: Everytime I see other's Q18s with logo, I feel very uncomfortable.

I am a little curious to see if Fi has gotten to you about the lack of logos on your drivers. Any word?

I didn't bother anymore. I wasn't aware that modified Q18s didn't really come with a logo. I saw NickF's Q18, it didn't have logo either.

Re: received my Q18 today

None of the IB specific drivers have the logo. We had had more requests than not to do the IB modified Q drivers logoless (although we did put logos on all of those) so we decided to do the IB specific subs without the logo. Seems that the bright white logo would still be seen behind some grill cloth, or in applications where the drivers were seen it wasnt as aesthetically pleasing as a plain on would be.

Thanks,
Scott

Neil, when you say "when I drill it"... are you talking about drilling the actual metal part of the basket? I think I'd shy away from doing that unless it was absolutely necessary... but if it's just the surround material you're talking about you should be OK. What are you going to be building? Any details?

Hi Owen,

Yes, just the surrounding metals. I actually just made the 8 existing holes larger. I think I added .1 mm. I needed to do it because the rubber holes weren't also aligned. Anyways, you can see the pictures of my ib project from the link below. It's a long way to go since I haven't installed framing yet for my theater. Tomorrow, I'll be picking up a qsc amp. I'll take pictures when I get home.
