| | Computer related forum? It seems like every forum I've ever participated in that discusses home theater has some sort of forum for computers, HTPC's, games like X-Box, and similar. Do you like to talk computer? Do you think it would go over good here at the Shack? Of course we need to know what all should be included and who wants to moderate it. If you would interested in moderating this forum then send me an email. We'd want at least 2 mods and maybe 3 if we do it. I'm testing the poll feature here too... not really necessary but figured I'd test it anyway. Looking for feedback from any and everybody. Thanks! | |||

| Re: Computer related forum? Not everbody likes computers, Sonnie. Even though the DVD-HD war has begun with Toshiba's opening shot, the home theater computer is still the most versatile HD platform. However, a lot of people have more trouble with their computer than any other technical device in their lives. This would be true because it is so complicated. Nevertheless, I count my PC as a valuable HD component in my lineup of equipment. I watched my first HD video on it, T2 WMV-HD, but couldn't get it to work correctly for months. It wasn't until I got a tip over at AVS forum on how to handle the license file so I could store the .wmv files on my hard drive that I got smooth video without stuttering. So yes, no HT forum is complete without a HTPC forum. | |||
