How to turn off mobile site redirect?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if there is a trick to NOT have the system shoot me to mobile if I come in on a mobile device? I know some sites ask you the question when you "come in" each time. Others do the "go mobile no matter what" routine.

Maybe a flag in my user preferences could be set so I am NOT given the mobile site.

If there is a way to get to the main site from a mobile entry point would you please let me know how to do it? Thanks

Go to your UserCP >>> Edit Options >>> Thread Display Options >>> Mobile Style Detection

There you can select whether you want your mobile device to use the Standard Style, which is the default style for PC viewing or the Mobile Style, which is what you guys have been using.

I just added this, so please let me know if it works.

Wow, thanks for the effort!
Um, right now on mobile, I don't see the options available that you indicate.
I am at UserCP/edit options and see 2 choices for linear (oldest/newest) and then colors.

Should I revisit with a non mobile device to make the selection?

Yeah... you will have to set it via a non mobile device because the UserCP for the Mobile Style does not show you near all of your options. It is cut back by design.

Make sure you save the selection, even if you do not change it. It should be set to Standard by default, but for some reason it may not trigger until you actual save that selection. Going forward it will be part of the registration options and therefore get saved during registration, but after the fact it is probably going to react a bit differently (guessing).

I had to uninstall the style chooser from the UserCP area... it was causing issues for the forum.

However, you should be able to choose your style from your mobile device now. The first time you visit from your mobile device it may show you the default mobile style/skin, but once you change it, it should default to your changed view on each subsequent visit.

Can a link be added to the Mobile Edition that takes the user to the regular site? Facebook for example, has a link at the bottom of the page that directs the mobile users to the regular site. The changes that I make when in the Mobile Edition don't take me out of the mobile edition.

Is there not a Style Chooser at the bottom that allows you to choose the regular style?

The style chooser really only lets you change the resolution.
