| Approve what and how long. 2-3 maybe hours ago I wrote a reply to Steve Callas in a ongoing discussion we where having in the DYI sub thread. Only one of several I wrote went to"approval", what ever that means. It was long, complex and now apparently lost or on ignore. Its a good thing it wasn't urgent. Or was it? What is this about and whats the criteria so I can avoid this in the future. . | ||||

| Re: Approve what and how long. We have a list of words that are watched because they are typical spam words... but they are only watched for the first 5 posts of a New Member. If the system catches one of those words that is posted by a New Member within that members first five posts, it will place the post in moderation until we get a chance to check it out. The drawback to that is the poster gets no notification of the fact the post is in moderation. I wish there were a better system, but I have not found it as of yet. We may just do away with it because it seems that it catches more legit posts than it does otherwise... although it rarely catches anything at all. BUT... then again... it will many times out right block URL's and links... and we do not see it when it does that, so it is more than likely helping us a good bit. We are managing much less spam than we use to. | ||||
