Thread Sections: Too many...possibly inpliment SUB sections?

I've been cruising around here lately and I've come to the immediate conclusion that there are entirely too many forum sections and it makes it difficult to browse the forum. The scroll wheel on my mouse requires 19.5 turns to get to the bottom of the forum index. IMO it's similar to viewing your iPod in list form with every song in a single list. I think we should try to create more intuative sub sections that could help define the forum index as more of a quick view of the forum as a whole. As of right now it just seems cluttered.

However, I'm not going to propose a change without offering to be part of the solution. If it would help I'd gladly work with whomever to define new forum sections and subsections.

We are always open to suggestions, but of course it has been working pretty well as it is.

Once members get familiar with the forums, from there I think most will use the New Posts link in the navbar up top to see any new posts that have been made. I know I very seldom scroll through the forum index page... unless I am going to start a new thread, then I fast scroll to that forum.

Interesting. I think our browsing styles are vastly different in the fact that I only enter the forums that I have a given interest in. However, using the tool for new posts might help me not miss interesting topics that I might not frequent.

I'll give that tool a shot but i still feel like it's a bit of a task to scroll through them all when I'm looking for something specific. I'm still new though so I'll wait till I've "broken in" this place a bit before I pass judgment.

You know you can also collapse sections you care nothing about using this little button in the upper right corner of each section. That saves a bunch of room if there are two or three sections you always skip over.
