| Hi all, I'm wondering if you folks have any standard set in place for marking threads where a problem has been solved ? If not, I have a suggestion which I've introduced to many other forums online. To make it easier for anyone searching for any particular information when they're trying to solve problems or troubleshoot, and where the answer(s) do not yet lay within an FAQ elsewhere on the forum, any thread where the OP asks particular questions, and they are satisfactorily dealt with somewhere within that thread could be marked as - [RESOLVED]. Eg. my own thread in the REW section Calibrating - Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 - [RESOLVED]. (Incidentally, I tried to do this myself by editing my first post and changing the thread title, but I notice it didn't work). Another benefit is that it simply allows the word "resolved" to be added to advanced searches (especially of thread titles) and the searcher then knows that they've got a very good chance of finding their answers within their search results. I've found it works very well and facilitates faster problem resolution for those who, let's face it, when frustrated by PC or other technical issues, aren't really in any frame of mind to read hundreds of posts looking for answers ! Hope this helps.. and thanks for providing a great forum... ![]() | |||

| | Re: Thread titles & problem solving If members want to let us know when their issue has been resolved, we can edit the thread title for them. I don't think there is an option to allow members to edit thread titles, if it were, I'm not sure it would be wise to allow it. However, how many members will be aware of doing such is another unknown. Most members won't even read the rules. As far as asking moderators to keep an eye out for issues that appear to be resolved, I wouldn't ask them to do that because it's enough to do what we all do now. | |||
