Replaced IC's and resistors in 43UWX10B. Resistor smokes immediately.

So I thought everything was all good in the hood but I might be wrong. The red and blue convergence seem to drift ever so slightly but daily. No one else in the house notices, but every time I sit down to play games or watch TV, I have to do some convergence. Any suggestions?

Well I guess its subjective but it drifts enough that I fix it daily.

If you want meaningful help you have to make it objective. How much over what period of time? Are you allowing it to warm up for 30 minutes before adjusting it? Did you use a lot of heat sink compound? There are lots of possibilities.

I'm back again. So I went to turn on my 43uwx10b today and to my dismay, there is no picture. The "power" light on the front is on, the red power diagnostic LED(inside the set) is on and solid, the 4 green LED's are on and solid (although the green led marked xx23 is considerably dimmer than the other three. about half as bright). The screen is completely black but the convergence chips are getting power(heatsink is warm). The three fuses appear to be good. I'm following the flow chart in the service manual right now but had to quit because it got too dark. Any suggestions other than keep following the service manual?

Do you get menu or OSD? Are the CRT filaments lit?

No menu or OSD. I'm not sure what you mean by "lit filaments" but the CRT's don't appear to be on(not lit up).

The filaments are supplied from a 5 volt regulator, IIRC. Check to see if it is running properly.
