I don't recall ridiculing anybody who likes a flat top end, rolled off top end, or any top end. I even advised Sonnie that the Bostons may not be to his liking since he seems to prefer a rolled off top end. To each his own. What I take issue with is your seeming cavalier dismissal of speakers without a flat top end, especially if you haven't even heard them. There's a lot more to sound quality than the FR of a speaker. Subwoofers is a different matter, with them it is very easy to nail down quality based on a few parametes - there are a ton more variables with speakers. If one jumps in and builds their own speakers without auditioning more expensive ones first though, I can see how it would be convenient to react in that manner.
