Manufacturers Sharp is bring a Blu-ray to the home-theater in a box crowd in a big way - $3,000 big. The player comes with two speakers (bring your own sub) that create a virtual surround sound by employing top mounted drivers that are floating on gel to create "rip-in-the-water effect." Sounded good to us but the video is what we came for. The player outputs 1080p over HDMI which looked great on one of their newest 1080p LCD displays. They say that the unit is going hit production lines in March and should hit the high-end markets around late-April to early May.
