| Digital Life: Toshiba Demos Ultra Portable Projector It’s the EDTV that fits into the palm of your hand, honestly. Toshiba’s new DLP front projector just lowered the bar on stature. The model TDP-FF1AU comes with its own carrying case and a 23 inch fold out screen perfect for those opportunities when the walls are just too far to reach with a decent luminance. Sci-Fi Tech got to witness the projector’s luminance at Digital Life, a trade show in NY. They reported that although it looks like a toy it displays like the real thing. It actually looked pretty good over the brightness of a fully lit trade show floor. It’s an 800x600 pixel front projector which is essentially EDTV (enhanced definition) at best. It’s not a full HDTV but EDTV is perfect for viewing DVDs and standard digital cable sources. Toshiba’s ultra portable projector runs for up to two hours off a built in battery pack. You could pop this palm sized projector in your back pack and do some viewing on the run. It’s not enough juice for a complete viewing of Ben Hur but you’ll get through most popular movies if you connected it to a portable media player. Link to Article |
