Futuristic Denon Blu-ray player / receiver concept

Denon isn't typically known for throwing out any futuristic pieces of AV luxury, rather, it tends to side with the more traditional, classy look. Of course, there's always a first time for everything, and while we're highly doubtful that this supposed Denon rendering will actually come to fruition, it certainly is a sight to behold. The two-piece kit consists of a rumored DVD-HD8910 Blu-ray player up top, with a 2TB AVR-HD8910 media center / receiver below. The 7.1-channel box also claims to handle iTunes music files and offer a direct connection to the iTMS, and while it's understandably simple to brush this all off as a fanboy's fantasy, Denon's no stranger to stuffing unusual extras in uncommon places.

If history tells us anything, it's that Denon will bring a 'Universal HighDef Player' to the market, they don't normally pick sides, they do universal players.

True, and it will likely not look as pictured they are typically very conservative.

But they have released two Bluray only players already. The DVD-3800BDCI and the DVD-2500BTCI. They may eventually mix in HD-DVD. They did start out with DVD Audio and a few years later integrated SACD.

The only thing about the concept units show is they would really clash with everything else in your system. Also where are the front panel controls? I know it never happens, but what if you misplace the remote?

What I'd like to see from Denon a transport that isn't $1200.

You do realize my post was from July, Denon have only just confirmed release of the two BD players in the last couple of weeks.

Denon players are nice,this is pretty exciting news.My only question is what price range,their equipment is very expensive!
