Re: Problem with one of my recievers

You need to have an antenna connected for the radio to work. If there is a switch for the speakers (i.e. A/B), make sure it is switched in, and that you have the speakers connected to the terminals as the switch.

Regards,
Wayne

Re: Problem with one of my recievers

First welcome!

Second, what model Pioneer...do you know its age? All of this is needs to be considered before any opinion of value can be given but I suggest you may have gotten this from a buddy for cheap or free because it has no real value and these problems may have been aparent to last owner. All the same info is needed but I will go out on a limb and say that its likely junk but I promise nothing.

Re: Problem with one of my recievers

While the Antenna and speaker switch's need checked by your post you hinted at owning multiple recievers so I assume you alrewady know about these issues. When you turn unit on do any lights show up at all on panel for source or anything to indicate it works at all?

Re: Problem with one of my recievers

yeah i own a couple. no its a nice reciever trust me. he had it for a couple years but stopped using it cause the led's or something went out on it so there is no display. so it sat for the past 6 months or so. and im starting a diy project with all new subs & speakers so he gave it to me caused of the power it puts out i paid nothing for it. antenna wires and speaker wires plugged in properly. just cant get it to work cause of the display. is this worth getting fixed?

Re: Problem with one of my recievers

Again you need to list model number for an accurate opinion....just saying its a "nice" unit isnt much to go on..........if you do explore fixing it plan on an easy $100 minimum for bench fees if you send it to a repair center, perhaps it may be less. You could also ask for a free estimate from a repair center and be asked to ok any repair that would exceed a financial limit you give the tech, looking for a local electronics repair center will ofcourse keep fees down with no cost to pack and ship and risk of shipping damage.
Hopefully a small fee could get it up and runing as it looks to me that you really would like to have a cheap and working unit....and who wouldnt!

Re: Problem with one of my recievers

The first thing I would check is if the fuses are still good inside the receiver.
First Unplug the power cord from the wall.
Open the lid on the receiver and have a look at the area around the power supply, there should be at least one if not two fuses. CAUTION there is still power stored in the caps and you could still get a nasty shock!

Re: Problem with one of my recievers

ok im open it up and check the fuses but that really wouldnt have anything to do with the leds on it would it? normally fuses help out with shortages on power going into the amp.
sorry chad im look up the model for you and give you a link. did u check the older models cause thats where i found it
