HK635 Preamp?

Anyone using their HK635 as a preamp? I am seriously considering going to either pro amps or a nice 5 channel amp with approx 125watts per. Wondering what results I might expect? Anyone have some positive comments?

Provided that the HK has enough preamp drive to push an external amplifier properly. The mix would work nicely. I used this kind of setup with a Yamaha RX-V1 a few years back, sound quality was great. Nothing different that you could expect from separates.

Going from 75 watts per channel (clean) to 120 would be a waste a money IMO, the human ear needs twice the power so you can start to ear a real difference. Depending on your speaker spec and if fan noise is not a problem (or mod with quiter fans or install your amps remote) you may look at Crown amp like XLS402 they do have a mail rebate (only for the state) would give you a nice 260 watts per chan that would worth the money
