| | Sub Output On Latest Receivers A friend wants to buy a HT system. He asked if the sub output would work on a CD player as well as the DVD player. My Pioneer receiver is 10 years old and I know mine doesn't. Anyone using the sub output with a CD player on a recent receiver? | |||

| Re: Sub Output On Latest Receivers If your speakers are set to small, the sub output will be present for all sources........... the information below the crossover frequency is redirected to the sub. When large is selected, only the .1 track (called LFE) of the 5.1 information on DVD's will go to the subwoofer. brucek | |||

| Re: Sub Output On Latest Receivers I believe that some receivers will still mix to the sub output even when your speakers are set to large. I've seen one preamp that will output to the sub when the sub is set to "LFE+L/R". But brucek is right in that all receivers should send to the sub in 2-ch mode if mains are set to small. Check the owner's manual to be sure if you are interested in running mains large. -- Otto | |||
