Upgrading firmware on Receiver question.

Has anyone gone through a firmware upgrade for any receiver? How did it turn out, and was it a big difference? I have an HK 635 receiver and see there is a firmware upgrade for the beast. It apparently upgrades the EZset/EQ function for room setup. Is it a risky proposition? Is it worth the price of a RS232 cable to have an upgrade. Or could I brick my receiver.. .

Thanks

I am not familiar with this update, but generally, if the manufacturer recommends it, it is pretty safe. Just be sure to follow HK's instructions.

Re: Upgrading firmware on Receiver question.

I downloaded the PDF for the install, so I am crossing my fingers. I have always had good luck with firmware updates except for my Xbox 360, that being the exception and not the rule, I am going to go ahead.
