Mitsubishi WS-55311 will not power up.

My Mitsubishi WS-55311 will not come on. I noticed a couple of months ago every now and then when I turned on the TV I would get a black screen with audio. I would flip the channel and it would come on. Now fast forward to now and the TV will not come on. I get no audio, nothing but the green light. It doesn't blink as other have experienced. It just stays steady. Now once, I did see the green light flicker and it started to blink, but then went steady. I have tried the reset button. I have left it unplugged over night. Nothing works. I called a local service person. She said it would cost about $700.00 for whatever the problem was.

So, looking on this site, I see in the sticky threads, Mitsubishi Flashing Timer LED and some great pictures and a DIY guide. So, my question is, do you think this might work for me? At this point my TV is just a beautiful big paper weight so I am willing to give it a try and do this, if ya think this could be the problem based on what I have said so far.

Your set does not have the DM. It will require troubleshooting but there is no reason that it should automatically cost $700 to repair. Many of these are repaired for far less. You need to call around and find someone more familiar with this set.

Okay will do. I called a local service rep. for Mitsubishi, but maybe she was just giving me a generic response.

Off the top of your head, what do ya think the problem might be? A steady green light, no audio, no picture.

Never seen this symptom. Usually the sets go into protect mode and shut down when there is a problem. Troubleshooting and diagnosis needed...
