Mitsubishi WS-65907 Startup Problems

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65907 HDTV which has worked flawlessly since October 2000. It was working fine earlyier today then tonight I tried to turn it on and the power light came on for 1 or 2 seconds then went off. I unplugged the TV for several minutes, pugged it back in and got the same results. It will not come on with the remote or the button on the TV. Has anyone encountered this problem? I searched the Mitsubishi-TV web site to no avail.

Thanks,

Ron Ludlow

Press Input and Menu buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds, then note the sequice of flashes on the LED. It should be flashing a two digit sequence of 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, or 2-4. This may help narrow down the type of railure if the unit is in protect mode.

Re: Mitsubishi WS-65907 Startup Problems

I tried pushing the menu and input (my input button is a rocker type) buttons simultaneously, but the small green power light did not come on at all. Is there another combination of buttons to push?

The green power light still comes on for 1-2 seconds when I push the power button. I tried unplugging the set from the wall electrical outlet for several hours to let any residual electrical buildup dissipate, but it did not help.

You have to hold them down together for 5+ seconds. If you do so and get nothing then the set has a problem that keeps the micro from communicating. Sould be something in the PS or reset circuits, or some other circuit keeping the data bus busy. This will require some skilled troubleshooting.

Re: Mitsubishi WS-65907 Startup Problems

Thanks for the suggestions. I have decided to list it on eBay "as is". Hopefully, someone else will be willing to pay for the repairs. I have purchased a new Plasma to replace it
