Various brands have had problems with coolant on the CRTs leaking onto circuit boards, causing lots of strange and frustrating problems. These repairs can range from easy to impossible, depending on how long the coolant stays on the board, where it went, and how the problem is handled.
The MOST important thing is to properly identify leaks and WHERE the coolant has been on the boards before the boards are moved. If this is done, it can save lots of time locating the problems, and keep the coolant from getting to other locations if the set is not carefully handled. The coolant migrates almost completely, so it takes very careful observation to find its path and source. It may only be a few drops and can end up below chips or even run off of the board to the cabinet. Again, it takes very careful observation to find the path, sometimes. In many cases it is obvious, but many techs have been fooled and missed leaks because they "thought" that they had checked carefully enough.
This is a post that I made specifically regarding a Mitsubishi. It is mostly relevant to coolant leaks in general on any brand and may be helpful advice.
