frozen Toshiba HD-XA2KN

I just aquired the Toshiba HD-XA2KN and i have had issues with it right away. It just sits on welcome and nothing happens. I cant get it to open and when i push the buttons it beeps but nothing happens. I dont get an picture on the Tv and the only thing i can do is hold down the power button and it resets it self and turns off.

Any ideas? I did not buy this from a authorzied dealer so i dont know if that will prevent me from getting service. Or if maybe there is something i can do to fix it myself.

Unplug the unit for about 10 minutes to reset it and try again!!

still nothing. i Have had it on now for about 5 minutes still says welcome. I had it unplugged for over an hour.
So what now??
