Mitsubishi WS 55-809

I just moved my television about ten miles from its previous location. When I got it to its new place I plugged it in and got the blue screen for about 2 minutes then for lack of a better term there was some screen distortion(wavy, squiggly lines) then just a black screen. I cannot pull up a menu none of the channel numbers no kind of display. Just a black screen. I was very careful moving it. I am probably going to call someone to fix it I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what could be wrong so I could be prepared and have somewhat of an idea what the tech is talking about.

Re: Mitsubishi WS 55-809

sounds like something came loose, which means someone will probably have to remove the back cover and check all the connectors/boards. could be a loose solder also which would involve a little more time to narrow down. thats my theory anyway

Re: Mitsubishi WS 55-809

Most common problem with bad connections would be the solder joints on the convergence outputs. This can create shutdown problems. Press menu and input on the front panel simultaneously for 5 seconds and note the two digit code flashing on the LED. Report back with that code.

Re: Mitsubishi WS 55-809

1-2 is no error. That means that there is no shutdown happening. From here you need some skilled troubleshoting and it is not likely a DIY problem.
