Pioneer Elite Pro-610HD--HD convergence issue?

I need to see if someone may be able to assist me. I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-610HD. When I run 480P (using component inputs) there is no issue with the picture. If I hook a HD signal to it, (either XBOX 360 or a cable HD channel), the picture separates into 4 different pictures (all the same thing). It happens on either component input. When looking at the convergence menu, all letters show up in doubles. Has anyone seen where the standard def is fine but the HD is off like this? I would like to see if anyone thinks it could be the convergence pieces (STK392-110) before I purchased and installed them. Thanks.

If you had a convergence issue you would have three images, R,G,& B, not four. You would also not have good convergence on SD images, unless the convergence was just not aligned in the HD mode. Can you adjust it?

Thanks for the reply. I cannot adjust when I am in HD mode. When I bring up that menu, the words are showing twice almost like (ccoonnvveerrggeenncee) but overlapping. The main cross section shows a few times also but does not show red on the sides. I have purchased the service manual and have to check the schematics again to see if I can tell where the HD diverts from the standard signal.

Here you go. Even though the standard def picture may look out of focus I believe it's because I was right on top of the set. It was the only way I could get the picture. Thanks again.

You have a problem with the HD processing of the video, which has a side effect of causing some misconvergence. I have never seen that symptom, but it looks like some strange behavior in the scan conversion. What resolution are you feeding to the set?

I am sending it 1080I. I have just reseated all cards and connectors on the convergence board and main video board with no change in the symptom.
