| Recently, our Samsung 42-inch DLP RP has started to exhibit an odd picture quality problem. For example, in a picture of sky, rather than showing a smooth range of colors, we see bands of color (as if there is a source compression issue), but the bands of color are separated by thin lines of blue pixels. On faces, smoke, sky, grass, we get blue lines. The problem seems to happen regardless of source: HD, SD (digital cable) or upconverted DVD; and on both HDMI and component connections. My question: can anyone put a name to this problem so I can do some more research. Googling "sky looks like with blue lines DLP" hasn't been very successful. My ultimate goal is to be able to determine whether I've got a TV problem, a TV adjustment problem or a Comcast problem. Thanks for any help. | ||||

| Re: DLP Picture Quality Problem Likely the set has a problem. Has it ever been serviced before or has anyone been in the service menu? Could be a color wheel index adjustment, but the effect of having blue pixels along the lines is a bit odd for that. I would suggest posting an image. ______________________ Why I support scouting...
