Did the re cap on my WD52525 and works fine now. Picked up a WD62725 Saturday with the BGLOD. Will my WD52525 chassis work in this 62" model?

What caps were changed, did you do it yourself or have someone else do it? Please provide some details so that others may benefit from the information.

I think the two are not that different other than a few features, but you may need to do some calibration with the different light engine. I think they are more similar than different, however and would not be surprised if it works with little change.

Picked up a WD 52525 on craiglist for $30 with the BGLOD. Replaced the radial caps from a list i got from another fourm but still had to do the switch trick to get it to boot. Set has a great picture so the surface caps must have been OK Just went and picked up the WD62725 with BGLOD last weekend for free. Think I will just recap this set also and see if I can get to work.
Building an ESR meter from plans online so I can better check the caps in circut.

What is the list of caps you changed, on what boards, and what switch trick did you use. Again, if you want to be helpful to others, post the details.

FYI, an ESR meter will not identify many of the caps going bad in these sets. I have pulled and teste hundreds. Some have high ESR, some low capacitance, some high DA, and some high leakage. Even a very expensive tester with all of these tests will not identify many of them in circuit. You really have to change hundreds of caps to reliably fix these sets, so don't be surprised if you have problems in the future.

Caps I replaced (I think this is your list)

POWER BOARD - C9A37, C9A38, C9A39, C9A40, C9A32, C9A33, C9A61, C9A62, C9A52, C9A59

FMT BOARD - C8F19, C8F21, C8F22, C8F27

TERMINAL 2 - C2M28, C2M29

TERMINAL 1 - CL203

DM BOARD - C81B3, C81B4, C81A2, C81A3

SIGNAL BOARD - C8F22, C8F23, C8F24, C8F25, C8E51, C8E52, C8E53, C8354, C87A0, C87A3,
C87A7, C8710, C8717, C8727, C8738, C8761, C8780, C8788, C8797, C8798

Please list any common sufface caps that you have seen fail in the V26. Also, what are the chances that the surface caps will live now that they are getting clean power from the radial caps I replaced. The picture on this set looks great. Were the surface caps Mits. used also from a bad lot like the Jamicon radials? As for the ESR meter, Can I assume that if I test a cap in circut and it dose have a high ESR that the cap should be replaced?
