Re: Recent wedding shot

I was wondering what you were doing at the Shack if you just got married...

Nice shot!

Just a note of caution.

I would be wary and cautious when photographing the sun esp with an slr where the harmful andpowerful UV rays can damage your eyes. Also the UV will also damage the ccd chip of any dslr or digital camera from either frequent and/or prolonged use in such a manner.

And... Nice shot!

Cheers

M

Re: Recent wedding shot

UV filters can do only so much. Its akin to sun lotion ie what is the spf factor. With the differing quality of glass on UV filters, how can you be sure what the spf factor is? As well as this how can you be know what the UV source's rate of emission is - if you know what i mean.
I would just urge caution when doing this type of shot. Maybe block the suns rays with one hand, focus the shot and then remove your hand, and then take a quick shot, thus reducing exposure. Just a quick idea.

cheers

M

Isn't the sensor only exposed when the mirror flips up? Isn't UV less @ sunset?

I hope I'm not being rude, but I'm just not quite convinced
