The Go-Getter (2007) Lou Taylor Pucci, Zooey Deschanel, Jena Malone. Mercer White (Lou Taylor Pucci) is a straight-arrow 19-year-old who, after the death of his mother, steals a car and sets out to find his older half-brother he hasn't seen in 14 years. He's barely out of town when a cell phone rings and Mercer finds himself talking to the car's owner, Kate (Zooey Deschanel) who, instead of calling the police, asks him to call her along the ride and tell him how his trip is going. From this point forward, nothing proceeds as expected, as Mercer has a slew of dangerous, humorous and eye-opening encounters that shows him that his adventure is a lot like life: it'd the chase and search that makes experiences worthwhile.
