Here is a little background: I've been running an Optoma EP1690 projected onto an 80" 16:9 white projector screen. Room size is 147" x 120" x 94" (LxWxH) and light can be completely controlled. I have never been blown away by the richness of color nor picture that the projector produces. I realized that my choice of using a more business oriented 720P projector coupled with my poor screen choice were errors.
Now onto my second attempt: purchased an Epson 8350 and now am looking at screens. The projector will be mounted on a shelf on the wall that runs 147". Based on furniture in the room, I think the maximum screen size I should go with is 100" assuming that based on the dimensions of my room, placement of the projector and the its capabilities I could output that size. Comments?
I was looking at the various models of Elite Screens ER100WH1. My want is an image that pops and saw that the gain that is offered ranges from 1.1 to 1.8. I mainly watch DirecTV HDTV and movies and am not a gamer. What do you experts out there think considering the room environment and look I want? Don't care so much if my blacks aren't the deepest when watching movies.
Thank you for your advice and time.
